Neuralink is one such company of Elon Musk. Founded in 2016, the company was not very well known. But since Neurallink recently announced one of their devices, the technology world has been a bit shaky.

Neuralink has created a brain-machine interface. Simply put, they will insert some connector / thread (simply 'her') into the human brain like the thread they discovered. Then those wires (threads) will be attached to a small chip on the skull.That chip will send various signal signals from the brain to a computer or smartphone through a device attached to the ear. And by using this signal, paralyzed patients can control any device by moving their hands and feet, even without making any sound, just by thinking. There is no doubt that it will change the world if it is really possible for humans. And that's why there's so much talk about Elon Musk and Neuralink.

It is not that there is no such brain machine interface at present or that other companies have not done research on it. But the biggest breakthrough in their research is that they have created a thread-like object to insert into the brain that is so delicate that it will do no harm to the human brain. So Neurallink is ahead of other brain machine interfaces.

According to one of their research papers, there are a total of 3072 electrodes in an array of 96 such fibers. These can transport a lot of data together. The yarns are only 4 to 6 micrometers in diameter. That means they are more delicate than human hair.

In addition to these fibers, they have developed another device that can insert fibers into the brain automatically. Although their research has been secret for so long, Elon Musk highlighted their progress in a presentation last week. Scientists were able to move the computer's cursor with the help of his mind by first implanting a brain in a paralyzed spinal cord patient named Matthew Nagle. In 2006, he was able to play pong games on the computer only with his mind. However, the technology used by scientists at that time was called Braingate, which was first developed at Brown University in the United States. In other words, Neuralink did not come in a hurry, but behind it is the research and education of the ages.

But yes, the old Braingate technology used only 128 electrodes called the Utah array. On the other hand, Neuralink is using more than 3 thousand electrodes.
